Cathy has worked in the animal welfare field for more than 25 years. Today, as a national communications, media and marketing expert for animal welfare groups, Cathy uses her expertise to help groups tell their stories to funders, supporters and the media. She also serves as project director for several spay-neuter projects and humane education programs in Texas.
Design & Development Summary
Cathy's audience consisted of 2 primary groups: Pet Parents and Animal Welfare Professionals. At first, the plan was to funnel users through the site and provide easy access to all the resources and information Cathy has to offer. As the project developed, Cathy opted to maintain three separate websites in order to make this distinction: Cathy M. Rosenthal, Pet Pundit, and Pet Pundit Publishing.

Pet Pundit Publishing highlights Cathy's acclaimed children's books. To incentivize more book sales, we designed a mock-up of the books to display on the site.
Within the site's e-commerce store, Cathy sells her children's books and posters. One of Cathy's goals was to have the store as automated as possible. We connected her with a company called Printful which can manage the printing and shipping of the posters within her shop. By linking up Cathy's WooCommerce store to Printful, Cathy is able to ensure timely and quality printing and shipping to the customer with minimal effort.
Pet Pundit serves as Cathy's blog, where readers can learn about different aspects of animals and their welfare.
To build each site, we used our favorite combination - a bare-bones theme and Beaver Builder page builder for consistent, clean styling sitewide.
